1. What type of equipment do you use?
For stills photography we use Canon digital SLR cameras and L series lenses.
For videography we use 2 Canon XHA1s, a Canon HV30, a Sony HVR V1 and a Pansonic GH2. Of course, it might not be feasible to use ALL of these for a shoot but it means we have good backup. For clarity of sound we use a wireless microphone and a Roland EDIROL R09.
2. Can we borrow a video camera to capture our honeymoon?
Yes! A good quality video camera will be available to you to capture your honeymoon if you choose our video or combined package (subject to availability). The service is free of charge although we do ask for a FULLY REFUNDABLE deposit of £100. This is because a couple kept a camera for 7 months and meant it was not available for others. Incidentally, the loan of the camera would be an ideal opportunity for you to capture a special greeting for parents or family to add to their particular copy of the DVD. A DVD will be made to complement that of your Wedding Day.
3. Sometimes photographers and videographers charge extra for capturing speeches and evening receptions. Do you?
No! As far as we are concerned, you have commissioned us to capture your wedding
-
4. How long will we wait for the photographs/video?
The proofs will be with you within days of the wedding. The editing of many hours of video will take rather longer but is normally with the couple in the initial draft within six weeks.
The time until final completion then depends upon how quickly you get your choice
and suggestions back to us. Once we have discussed your photo/video requirements
with you, the final package will be with you within about two -
5. Will the video have titles?
Yes. DVDs are very versatile (that’s the V in DVD!). Not only will you have a title to your requirements but also chapters so that you can go immediately to a part of the day without having to fast forward or rewind. At the end of the DVD will be a rolling list, rather like the list of actors at the end of a film, giving the names of all who attended the wedding. Some couples ask if we would add at the beginning some photos of the two of them growing up. Both the introductory sequence (such as the photos) and the list of family and friends who shared your special day will be added at no extra cost. Blu ray discs are also available at no extra cost.
6. How long will the video be?
There is no set time because all weddings are different and couples have their own requirements. Religious ceremonies, such as in a church, tend to be much longer than civil ceremonies, such as in a hotel or registry office.
On average, DVDs are about 95 minutes to 120 minutes, but ultimately, the finished product depends upon what the couple want.
7. You must shoot more video than you actually use in producing the completed DVD. Is it possible to have copies of the footage you don’t use in finished the DVD?
We take a lot more video than we use in the final product, just as we take many more photographs than we use in the album. You can have the raw footage (rushes) ‘as it was shot’ at no extra cost just as you can receive all the photographs in full resolution when your order is completed.
The rushes can be offered to you in one of two ways -
The request for the raw footage must be made on completion of the order.
8. Do you take bookings for same sex civil partnerships?
Yes we do, under the same terms and conditions as weddings.
9. Are you willing to meet with us at the place where the ceremony is to take place before the wedding?
A wedding is a very special occasion and we want to make sure that it is captured perfectly. We arrange to meet the couple before the wedding. It is also our policy to attend any rehearsals.
10. Do we have a choice of either traditional albums or coffee table/story books as part of your package?
Yes, you have a choice in the way you want your photographs to be presented. This choice doesn't have to be made until after you have seen your photographs. The coffee table books are becoming increasingly popular and in many respects do offer more flexibility with the way photographs are presented. Traditional albums, on the other hand, offer a unique form of presentation although the flexibility isn’t quite as extensive in presentation.
You might see an album or a book you like which does not form part of our package. This is not a problem! We will offer you ANY album or book you see on another photographer’s website or stand at a wedding fayre and we can guarantee that our price will be very competitive, indeed less than you will pay another photographer. We would not expect you to pay for an album/book that you didn’t want so if you choose an album/book that does not form part of our wedding photography package then we will off an allowance against the album/book of your choice.
11. We notice that the wedding video package contains 3 copies of the DVD/blu ray.
Our parents are not together -
You don’t have to purchase additional copies of either the wedding DVD or wedding album slideshow because it is our policy not to leave any parent without either. If your parents are not together then we will provide copies of the slideshow and /or DVD for them AT NO EXTRA COST.
